I did the one in Toronto recently and it was pretty nice. Its free and hey you get to drive those cars, however its a limited amount of time in terms of track distance. Not a long track of course. Drove a GTI.

It's a fun event. The Toronto track was short, but they put you through a mini slalom and they have a small section which has a layer of water to demonstrate the stability control. We got two runs of our choice so I went with the Jetta GLI and the Passat TDI. Free collapsible water bottle and the chance to win prizes.

Man, big VW fan/owner here. Currently own 2 MK4 golfs, and a MK2 GTI. Would love to do this if it wasn't so far.
