New type LED tail or the existing LED style?
Very close to this, if not identical. The 2017 e-Golf at Canadian auto shows should be the same. It's the first facelifted Golf to launch here.
No "charism" / directional turns (e.g., Audi/Mustang).

North America:

Europe:

I do not have an illuminated shot. You should be able to find them lit up somewhere on YouTube, probably from the launch video from Germany.

The European tails seem darker. Both look good.

There're about 18 2017 GTI 3 door manual base left in ON, and more coming. The only incentive this month is a $1k cash, not applicable to lease/finance.

Any news on the 2018 GTI? I'm guessing it'll get some of the same features as the 2018 R?

The 2018 Golf R will be facelifted but still built in Wolfsburg. There will be no sunroof. There will be LED tails.

2018 SportWagen 4Motion and Alltrack will have a 6-speed manual. All trims.

2017 e-Golf will be out in June.
When will the manual wagons/Alltracks be available? Are we expecting approximately 1.5k less compared to DSGs for manual transmission models?

You can already get a manual Sportwagen, not 4MOTION though. No guarantee the manual AllTrack is coming. at least not 4th quarter 2017.

Will the Sportwagen and Alltrack get the facelift and updated dashboard/interior in 2018 as well like the regular Golf?

There will be a 6-speed manual transmission for all 2018 wagon trims, both Sportwagen and Alltrack. Earliest possible arrival for a sold order would be maybe August.

Hello and thanks in advance for your help.

I'm looking to get a Golf R between now and September/October. I have the following questions:

1. Is the 2018 R going to be much different (rumors have it that front/rear fascia, lights and infotainment unit change)?

2. What is the timeline of opening orders for 2018 R and delivery of them?

Trying to decide whether to wait for 2018, or just get a 2017 now.

Cheers

I can only answer 1.

There are subtle changes. Photos are available online for the new 2018 model. I believe it also get digital dash, similar to Audi.

It would look similar to this. This is euro version.
