VPSN's, Proxies and your ISP Speeds?

Just wondering, I'm on Rogers Hybrid Fibre 150mbps plan.

If I was to use a VPN or proxy service, typically how bad will my speeds drop? Significantly?

A good VPN will get you 80-90% of your speed.
Don't know about proxy.
If you choose free VPN you'll get 0-10% of regular speed.

It really all depends on your VPN. If you set up your own get a budget box on 1gbps and it should be way faster then your ISP still.

DNS services shouldn't affect your speed. Whatever you typically get when connecting to a US or another Countries server you should get with these services.

Use speedtest and select a server in another Country and that should give you a rough idea.
