Wal-Mart Canada's Return Policy

sounds fishy... so what location is this? i think we're all curious.

I'd have to agree. The Wal Mart chain is known for hassle free refunds, generally speaking. Store credit is not a refund, as the money is not back in your wallet, account, credit card.

Sounds like some manager might have told the CSRs to start pushing store credit on customers returning stuff. Those who argue would probably still get a refund. After all, what store wouldn't want to just issue a credit note and keep the cash?

The only time I returned something at Wal-Mart, I got back my money, wthout receipt.

It was at the Kitchener (Fairview Park location, not that new one at the edge of town) It might just be the person working there is new.

And yes, this was the situation:
-buys something dec. 4th and pays with credit card at walmart, receipt issued
-lines up to return item on dec. 5th with item to be returned, original receipt, and the credit card he used the day before
-is issued store credit instead of credit card refund

No it's not something that is not refundable like opened software or anything like that.
