WalMart-16"HP Laptop,2.0Ghz AMD DC,3Gb RAM,250HDD,HDMI,Nvidia 8200M,Webcam-$599
Just picked up one last night from Milton WalMart Supercentre. Price rolled back to $599 from $678. It's a new model from HP: G60-249CA
I think the deal is at least warm for people looking for an HDMI laptop with an NVIDIA video card to play 1080p HD movies on an TV in addition to regular computer use.Last edited by ovexi; Mar 23rd, 2009 at 08:57 AM.

Correction: This is not a dedicated video card - it is indeed shared - for those whom this matters to.

Good price if the specs are the same as HP's. Try to configure this at Dell for a Studio 15 (you lose an inch) and it's $200 more. If I was in the market, I would buy this as a decent HTPC budget laptop.
One of the drawbacks of HDMIing any laptop to a flatpanel is the fan noise. If you already have a decent laptop, better to get the WDTV for around $120.
I would definitely recommend this Walmart HP to a friend. If you could upgrade to a 9cell and 802.11n WLAN, it would even be hotter.

I purchased this laptop on sale from FS a couple months ago for $619 - with less ram (2gb) and less hdd (160gb)... It's an excellent laptop - I especially like the 16" widescreen and full keyboard (including num keys).

The specs look good for that price.
Only thing I worry is the prematurity of the 8200M chipset.
Even worse if it's onboard. You can't replace / upgrade it if it has a problem.
