I've only bought once from third party seller on Walmart and had a terrible experience, it's as if they knowingly deceive you they put a low price product with high shipping which is non refundable in case you need to return item.
With time, everything will go on sale...

It is still available online. Be careful though as it is USB 2.0 and with such high storage it may be very very slow to transfer data. So only for people who don't complaint of speed but just want something for extra storage.
Koodo $48 6GB plan, Rogers 3rd Cell phone line (after 2nd line as wireless home phone) cost me only $40 with free iPhone 6s and $200 Costco card, WOW!

This thing is fake storage wise as well. What they do is they modify the micro-controller in the USB so it lies to the operating system about its capacity. As you start putting on data and it reaches its actual real world capacity (I would guess 4/8GB on this one), it just starts over-writing the data. Another option is once its over it real capacity it just start writing to a null like area so it looks like the files transferred but they actually went no where :P. There are other ways as well but these are the 2 common ways.

Almost certainly a 8 GB or maybe 16 GB with a fudged controller (read post above) to report that it is 256 GB. At best. It might be less than that or completely non-functional.
It's simply not going to be a legit 256 GB memory stick at this price. Well known scam when third party sellers are involved through Walmart, Amazon, Ebay, etc.

In short, don't buy memory sticks from unknown sellers. You want to buy direct from a brand name manufacturer or through a trusted store e.g. direct from Walmart, Best Buy, etc.
You'll never get 256 GB in real storage from this third party item. And it'll fail an integrity test if tested with a program like H2testw which actually writes test files to the full capacity and then sees if they can be read back or not.

I don't understand why doing this is even allowed. It's actually extremely immoral and it's rampant on places like Amazon, and Amazon definitely knows this but they don't act on it. Walmart probably knows but also doesn't act on it. Knowing that users are lazy with their data and they store valuable photos and documents on their SDcards, it's extremely scummy to knowingly sell products which will inevitably corrupt your data at some point.

As others have said, this is fake storage. When you put it in your computer or your phone, it'll display 256gb of available storage. When you put files on it, it'll work as expected, as the controller finds space to put your data. When you reach the limit (8 or 16gb), the controller will fail to write because there's no actual space beyond the 8 actual gigabytes. Instead of just saying that your card is full, it might fail to write without telling you, it might corrupt the entire content of the sdcard. Either way, you stand to lose your data.
