[Walmart] 65” HAIER 4K tv $598

Seems like a decent deal if you want a big screen tv but don’t wanna break the bang. Nothing fancy, no smart or HDR but 4K, model 65UG2500, 2017 model.

Ordered one and came to $707, free shipping.

Bought this for $799 at costco about a year and a half ago. Wal-Mart has a great return policy too.

Thanks OP! This was exactly what I've been waiting for -- a moderately priced UHD 65-inch TV without Smart features THAT had free shipping because we have a tiny car and couldn't possibly get it home ourselves. Seriously, I'm not making that up. You made my day. As long as it works, I'm happy. :-)

Be sure to ask about WM extended warranty options.

Don't I need Wal-Mart's credit card to get that? I know I have double the warranty with my credit card that I used to buy it...

Nope, since you pay for it you don't need WM CC. It's provided by the same company that provides Costco with extended warranty, you might need to ask in store.

Can anybody give feedback on the sound? On a budget and wondering if it'll require a sound bar or external speakers.

CC warranty gives you one extra year. WM will sell extended warranty to anyone who buys from them regardless of payment method (if you buy extended warranty, CC extended warranty generally no longer applies since it starts at the same time your extended warranty starts).

Price for this TV should be $75 (for 2 extra years, 3 total)

https://www.walmart.ca/en/financial-ser ... lan-prices

(entertainment-> tvs for anyone who wants to check).

Basically $75 for an extra year of warranty. Not really worth it since the tv only cost $600 (basically > 10% of cost for an extra year).

Unless you have a very low "bar" when it comes to sound quality, you will need one.

Being realistic most tv these days will require a soundbar unless you dont really care about sound quality. It allows manufacturers to lower the cost and also make panels (frames) smaller. Same reason Samsung started exporting their inputs out of the panel for higher models.

Good point, particularly when I get a second year as it is with the credit card I used for the purchase.
