it's not the same nexus 7 that was launched this year. The specs will be lowered, dual core, 1024x600, and the way the nexus line has been, no expandable storage. The acer has 1024x600 screen, Tegra 3 and MicroSD. For some, the expandable storage is useful.

Why wait? At this price before I'd sell it later for lets say $120 (after Tegra 4?), and I'd still get at least $28 worth of enjoyment out of it. I wouldn't base my buying decisions on rumours if I'd like a tablet now. I'd be putting the $30 64GB microsd, so it would be a $170 64GB Tegra 3 tablet.

I picked it up in store BD and it is a very nice 7 inch tablet. Only downside is the screen is not as nice as the nexus, but it does have a microsd slot, hdmi. Its at 4.1.2 and is snappier than my touchpad.
It trumps the Galaxy since its a quad core
For the acer haters i have seen the nexus and this is as good build quality.

For the Acer haters, I have had a 1st GEN A500 tablet, for 3 years now. It was great in stock form. I now have it rooted, running AOSP Jelly Bean and CPU overclocked to 1.5Ghz. It has been ROCK SOLID like this since the summer, the build quality is as good as any ipad I have played with. Don't be put off by the name Acer, they have impressed me with their tablets, and I would most definitely buy another.

Only negative I can see with this is the screen. Still, at $150? Not a bad deal at all.

I wouldn't stick to Acer $99 B1 tablet announcement, as proved in the past final price is always higher then announced - remember Nexus 7 "under $199" announcement ? Can you get it for under $199 ?
Plus, announced Acer is dual core vs quad core in Iconia A110.

To me bigger problem is that there is no known way to root this device, so i'll keep it for two weeks and just return it if there's no root by then

The $99.99 N7 rumor is true but it won't be with same spec as the N7 selling right now, it may not even available in North America.

There is "rumor" that Apple is making a low end iphone.
