[Walmart] Dark Knight Trilogy 4K HDR BluRay Preorder - 79.99

Walmart has this set for $20 cheaper than Amazon. Best price I have found thus far, and they are claiming a Dec 5 ship date.

Would wait until they put up the Christopher nolan collection box since inception is a must have for me.

I understand that film is high resolution, therefore 4k copies can easily be made from the film. But what about HDR? Since these movies came out before HDR, would the HDR be added digitally so it is not really HDR. Kind of like films shot with 3D cameras vs the films shot in 2D then converted to 3D?

It was shot on film, not digitally. So my guess is the film has enough information to do HDR.

The reason I'm not sure is that I never heard of a theatre having HDR, so I don't think older films have true HDR.

Because what is sent to theatres isn't the copy of the original film. That's similar to how movies weren't in 4k 30 years ago but the original film had this information on it.

Originals were shot in 6K (18k for the IMAX scenes). Nolan himself has supervised the 4k remastering. These films should really benefit from HDR.

Great price. Thanks OP.

Not bad... Will wait and get just TDK AND TDKR on their own though.

Did anyone’s preorder from Walmart get cancelled? I just received an email saying it was cancelled and can’t find it on their website now. Disappointed about this!

I agree. It was announced yesterday in the US so hopefully we'll see Canadian pricing soon.

US$150, but it includes Dunkirk! Keep in mind that's MSRP. If you can wait a bit, I can pretty much guarantee you that it'll drop in price. It can be hard if you want to add it to your collection really badly.
