[Walmart] Fitness equipment clearance YMMV

For those who didn't achieve that beach body they planned on earlier and want to get working on it extra early:

Walmart is clearing out a bunch of their fitness stock. Many deals are live on their site and some stores also have stock which may not show up on the site.
Here are a few examples of deals on the site:
Bowflex 3.1 Bench $99 regular $149
https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/6000114198611

Bowflex PR 1000 $349 regular $649
https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/bowflex-pr ... 0197687669

Bowflex Body Tower $199 Regular $396
https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/bowflex-bo ... 0115629103

Bowflex selecttech 5.1s adjustable bench $199 regular $399
https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/6000198383946

Schwinn Crewmaster Rower $349 regular $649
https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/6000199991075

Schwinn Eliptical trainer $199 regular $399
https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/schwinn-a4 ... 0197309229

Stores may also have cast iron weight plates and dumbbells on sale.
Ussually they go for about $1/lb
I saw 5lb weight plates for $1
25lb weight plates for $17
Curl bar for $22
Many dumbells were about 40% off.

I found a good way to see if a specific store has this sale is to go to this link as many of these are unlisted in the website
https://stocktrack.ca/?s=wm&upc=70255610216

If you see a price of say $17 or $19 at a store instead of $29.98 (for this item) then it's likely most similar items are on clearance at that location.

YMMV

Thank you for sharing OP, will try the Bowflex PR1000 Home Gym. Got it for in store pickup as they charge 39$ for delivery.

My gym membership is ending in couple of months, this might be the solution. Will see.

Fact check, none of the above is valid.

There is also lot of smaller ticket items like yoga mats, bands, wraps, etc.

Schwinn, Bowflex, Everlast, and Cap seem to be most likely to have sales at this point.

Maybe more choices will follow later. I did see a few brands I never heard of such as Weslo in store for exercise bikes. Cap barbell ranged from weight plates to dumbells and some bar stuff (didn't have any straight bars in store though). Everlast had almost everything from punching bags, to yoga stuff, to wraps, etc.

Before checking store is recommend looking at the stock track link in my original post as it's a good way to tell if a store is marking stuff down in store.

Bowflex is generally regarded as garbage equipment. I live in the GTA and people practically have to give bowflex stuff away or sell it at 90%+ discounts.

Bikes, treadmills, and ellipticals are also practically free on kijiji if you live near a major city.

If walmart is selling cheap plates, that's something to consider. A 5 pound plate for $1 is a steal. I've generally paid about 50 cents a pound for olympic plates, and a bit less for 1" plates used on kijiji. Anything under 50 cents a pound is a good deal as long as it's not those garbage plastic ones. Most I ever paid for weight was about 75 cents a pound... but those were for used Ivanko revolvers.

Schwinn is at least a brand I recognize, so those might not be total garbage. But you really don't need one to get in shape. I would rather do high intensity interval training for free by watching youtube videos.

Rowing machines are awesome pieces of equipment. I bought a crappy used one for $60 and it still kicks my ass. Would love a Concept 2 one day, but the used one I bought still gives me a good workout.

Im looking for a rowing machine. Canadian Tire has the NordicTrack ones going on sale once in a while for $500.

I'm looking for an alternate cardio machine indoors as I'm a cyclist

For the folks who are thinking about getting a Bowflex home gym, I highly recommend you guys get a nice set of dumbbells instead. Like even get the Bowflex Selecttech dumbbells instead, but if you really want something that's worth the money (and ultimately the quality), get some Powerblocks. I've seen great deals on Powerblocks on Kijiji, that's where I picked mine up from!

Go my bowflex 1090 dumbells last black Friday from Walmart.ca for $200. Best deal I've ever gotten on RFD.

Guys, if you're considering buying a bowflex home gym. DONT. I sold mine at a loss and bought real equipment. Please, please, please dont let Bowflex's slick marketing sway you. Its garbage.

Yeah, I wouldn't go for the Power Rod-type equipment, but some of their other machines / equipment are OK IMO, albeit expensive (like the Max Trainer for example), so just investigate what else you can get for the same money (or less)...
