What's wrong with 420HC steel?

Am I the only one who got alarmed thinking it was the Gerber baby brand?

Thought I was on the US version of this site (SD) forgot a moment.

Good blade to carry around and open random things. Nothing amazing about it other then price is good.

If you need a pocket knife to save the world at rock bottom price I would pick this up. Amazon boxes don’t open them selves!

It's soft garbage steel that won't hold an edge (unless it's a Buck knife, because they are wizards at heat treating steel).

If someone wants a GOOD cheap knife, look the Chinese Ganzo and Sanrenmus from Geerbest, etc. 8cr13mov Steel used in those knives is much better than 420 used by Gerber.

Ah, don't mind me - there's nothing "wrong", I'm just being a silly steel/knife snob.

This is a good price for an economical "add-on" knife to any situation where portability and size economy are important, but I wouldn't rely on it singularly... But it's not intended for that, so I'm basically pooh-poohing a potato for not being an apple.

Will be quieter now :-)

CBSA will confiscate those, so good luck.
