[Walmart] [Koodo Tab] Huawei P20 Pro - $0 on Tab L ($480 device balance), $150 gift card, $35 activation fee, new activations only

Another deal on a Huawei phone with Koodo...

  • Huawei P20 Pro is $0 up front with $480 device balance on Tab Large with Koodo
  • Walmart is offering a $150 gift card with Tab Large or XL for this phone (no Tab Med)
  • Gift card only available for new activations - not renewals
  • Best Buy, WOW Mobile are not offering GC, The Mobile Shop is only offering $100 so not as much savings
  • Net cost (if choosing to cancel) is $330 + $35 activation fee + tax + 1 day service
  • Unsure of when the $150 gift card promo will run to - always assume it's a 1 day sale

Thanks for the reminder - added to title and post.

$150 GC is only for Tab L and above for this phone I was told. You may be thinking of when the P20 (non Pro) went for $0 on Tab Med with $150 GC?

Can anyone please chime in if this was the lowest p20 pro went during boxing day/black friday? I need a new phone and was interested in P20 pro but I can wait if it had gone lower than this in the past with the hope that it will some time soon :-)

isn't new Kodoo customer has to be locked into plan for at least 3 months? I heard they dont allow new customer to hook off right away?I might be wrong though...

It was $310 directly from Koodo, but only for couple hours I believe.

3 weeks ago, there was a few hours new activation or HUP online $0 down $310 medium tab. No activation fee. It was $55 cheaper.

Can someone elaborate on this? Also, what is the locale? Is this nation-wide?

Could someone walk me through the steps (if cancel?) -- So I would only have to wait one day?

Thanks. it means no min 3-month bonding? follow OP' calc would be

1.buy tab large with 0 upfront from walmart;
2. pay 480 + 35 + whatever one day charge + tax to Kodoo and cancel it right away;
3. can 150 gc be used to cover partial above cost or you have to keep it as GC for next Walmart shopping?

Many thanks if anyone can confirm this...

Good deal for under $400!

Telus/Koodo FINALLY pushed out Android 9 (Pie) update and it's even snappier.

Heads up: if you are a churner, you will most likely be denied a large tab. I think this stops people from buying from retailers and reselling.

So, time to buy a new phone? Or wait until s9+ goes on a raging sale? ☺️

manage to answer my own question. from https://www.koodomobile.com/help/everyt ... -about-tab it says "You'll need to wait for at least 90 days after purchase before you can pay off your Tab Balance." so I guess this is policy and no one can walkaround?

I'm having this device since december. This model has issue with the GPS and I had to revert to 8.1.

Pretty sure you can just call and cancel. They might flag you for future churns but they can't deny you cancelling and paying off your tab the same or the next day.
