Problem with SDM is if it is a lemon, you are screwed because they don't accept returns.

A few months? It has been out for nearly two years.

You are not screwed, you just have to deal with Nintendo. But it does take more time than returning the unit to the store.

What did Nintendo patch on the switch?
They patched the ability to load homebrew. The original switches are completely hacked.

Yeah, but you'll almost certainly get banned one day or another with the current methods, so if you plan on playing online, forget about hacking your console, even if it's only to play homebrew.

I was in the same boat as you.... until they created a paywall. Nintendo made the homebrew decision for me.

So having to pay $5.50 a year for online play (by joining a family plan) is a high enough paywall to justify hacking the console and likely pirating games?

The $90 per game is enough to justify hacking and pirating lol.

There are ways to get games cheaper: Kijiji; SDM during a 20x promo (comes out to roughly $69 taxes in); Wal-Mart E3 preorders @ $50...

2 years but they do have good stock. It's just spread out across many retailers so there isn't always a deal when one of them runs out.

Agreed. $24/year is reasonable. Now if only they could fix their server lag. That's the problem.

If a console is DOA, Shoppers won't give you a refund or swap it out?? That's messed up. How do people even put up with that in this day and age.

Let's be honest, games could be $20 and you'd still pirate.
