[Walmart] Samsung S8 promo (Telus$100upfront Rogers $0) $100-$275 cash card

Just pickup a Samsung S8 with HUP for Telus account. $100 upfront but get back $150 (premium) or $275 (premium plus) cash card depends on what tier of plan you have. They have $0 for Rogers (with $100 cash card) so you can call up to relation to see if they are willing to match. In my case we got waived the device balance ($58), lowered the S8 to $75 and kept our plan for $105 monthly and somehow we got $275 cash card. We got in the Newmarket Walmart as the Aurora one is out of stock. Prefect gift for Father's Day!

Prefect gift for Father's Day!
ME: Hey Dad, happy father's day! (gives gift)
DAD: What is it? Some kind of walky talky?
ME: No Dad, it's the newest Samsung smartphone
DAD: Oh. Well thanks. I probably won't use it much, just for phone calls mostly.
ME: That's cool. Oh by the way, I signed you up for a 2 year contract at $105 a month. Be sure to pay the bill every month. Happy Father's Day!.
DAD: What did you say? Talk into my good ear.
ME: I said Happy Father's Day! Cya later Dad [drives away]

Ok, seems like this deal is not for most RFDers as many of you would just judge on the monthly plan cost without asking what's included (I don't even need to pay for it in my case as it is company reimbursed). On the other hand, I am not saying how cheap my plan is but the deal is the about cash card. I haven't seen any deal posted before for S8 would give you net $175.

Mod, please delete the thread if it is not appropriate to put this kind of deal up.

Ok, what's included? Not sure why you're blaming others when you neglect to include that yourself.

Your company pays for your cell phone plan, that's nice. How would that be applicable to most RFDers?

$175 isn't your net. I'm paying $55 a month with Fido, 6GB data and all the usual stuff, and that price includes a Plus 10 subsidy. If I switched over to a 105 plan, I'd be paying an extra $50 per month over 2 years, which is 1200. Take the $175 off that and I'm still paying over $1000 extra.

There's a $38 plan right now through Public Mobile that probably gives more than your $105 a month plan. You're paying an extra $67 a month x 24 months = $1,608. Subtract the $175 and you're paying $1,433 for the S8. It's nice your employer is paying your monthly plan but I don't see how that makes it a "hot" deal.

Right off the bat, there's no way the Public plan offers more than a $100+ plan with any of the Big 3. Look at their sites, for $105, one can get 4GB, the Public plan you speak of is 2GB. Move it up to 4GB and it reduces that $1433 to $905 which isn't hot but it's basically what the phone costs anyways. Since you have no clue what OP's plan is, your numbers are 100% meaningless...

Just me... But I'd never agree to company reimbursing phone bill...

You have to answer the phone any time (even after work hours), and company will likely keep your number when you leave.

As far as this deal goes, it's pretty awful, especially when eligible plans are considered.

May I know how much it would cost for you to get an S8 with your plan? Seems like on Fido website, you would need a min $70 plan and the device will be $589 or a $90 plan for $489. And I do not think your plan is available for everyone too, right? So let say.. for fido it would be $2564 with tax if going with $70plan and phone.

My plan is $105 but the deal is with any premium plus plan which according to Telus website is $90+($275 gift card) as stated. For my need then I need a $105 plan but for yours maybe not. So for the deal I put, it would be ($90x24+$100)+tax - $275 cash card = $2279 and it is available for anyone.

Maybe I should say this deal is only good for those who is paying $90+ plan then. =)

Huh? The current Public Mobile plan is $38 for 4gb of data a month. You must be someone stuck on a huge monthly fee contract - I can tell by your hostile attitude.

To be fair. If this is the Rogers 3GB for $100. It isn't so bad when last month it was only 1GB.

My boy for the iPhone 7 with $100 Wal-Mart gift card.

Not everyone has access to corporate/small business, know or can be bothered about the Manitoba/Quebec plans, etc.

I was lucky enough that fido offered me $100 for 10GB when I upgraded to the S8+ last month with $100 credit. Used to have $70 6GB. I also have a corporate that's 5GB for $75.

Like I said cut OP some slack.

Well I mean technically, you can get that plan by doing a double-port to Freedom then to Public but for any market plan, you wouldn't be able to get that. Granted, yes it doesn't take much effort to get that but any average non-RFD Joe wouldn't have an idea how to get it. Hence, that is that that $48 Koodo MB Kijiji plan was so popular among the regular public, even had many "businesses" popping up selling that as a service.

Put it this way some, I know a few signed up for $100+ plans and get NOTHING out of it because they went to the carrier stores.
