[Walmart] YMMV Koodo LG G6 12/10: $60.75 net New Activations

Was just at one of my local Walmarts (St Catharines Fairview Mall) and saw the LG G6 for Koodo for $0 on a tab small with a $200 gift card on new activations.
($240 + $35) x 1.13 - $200 gift card = $110.75 net
Phone+activation+tax= $310.75
Update 12/09: -$250 GC = $60.75 net
Update 12/10: $250 GC still active

FAQ:
What if I don’t want/need a new line?
Cancel when you get home/leave the store etc. You will have to pay the $271.20 that the phone costs plus $39.55 for activation plus 1 day of service charges (pick the $25 plan when they ask what plan you want).

What?!$&@ Then how the $&*? are you saying the phone is only $xx?!
The gift card partially offsets the phone cost.

You’re so full of crap, my Walmart doesn’t have this deal, why are you lying?!?!?!
Every Walmart has different mobile deals. Your mileage may vary.

Can I get a referral, port my number, add multiple lines, and other questions relating to my specific account?
Check the Koodo website or call their customer service, their FAQ is far more extensive than mine.

Good luck!

Edit: forgot that activation fees are back! 👎🏽
Edit: deals change daily so I’ll try to keep this up to date by stopping to check during my lunch Grinning Face With Smiling Eyes

Wait a day. There may be another $100 GC for the weekend.
By any chance, did you noticed any deal for Samsung A8?
Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.
Public Mobile $34 15GB, $11 250MB, 2x $5 50min/50text, $0 FPL home phone,
Fido $5 4GB plan with a free tablet.

Oops!
Monthly users can usually get this waived but if you cancel before, then probably not lol

When i did this the apple iphone 6 was 375 walmart card. The a5 was 400 and the lg q6 was 350.

Just sold the phones converted gift cards to prepaid visa paid phpne bills.

Ended up with 375 card -310 for 240 tab. Activation fee and taxes also 1 day service. = $65. Roughly depending on phone. Sold iphone for 380 sold a5 for 220.

Sold 11 phones made more then $3000 better to wait. 100gc is a joke.

I'm pretty new to RFD and Koodo, so please help me out. I'd like to get this deal, but only for the phone. My end goal is to move to Fido and use their 3GB plan. My steps are:

1. Create a Koodo account for the referral bonus (from my brother).
2. Go to Walmart, and sign up for this deal with Koodo.
3. Go to Fido and sign up for the 3GB for $15/month + $0 tablet.

First I'd like to know how much time I need to wait between steps 2 and 3. Secondly I'd like to know if I can port my number to Fido from Koodo (it's a deal for a tablet, but I'm assuming I still get a SIM that I can use for a phone).
Freedom - $130/year talk/text
Fido - $5/mo 4GB data

Summary of above: don’t get the LG G6 if your intent is to flip for profit. There are crappier phones with better gift cards.

How often can you do this with Koodo? Can you do this a few times for multiple family members? I'm new to the whole Koodo tab thing.

A great way is the upgrade path. No lines to cancel and you can flip the phones for profit.especially with multiple lines.

Do you mean how often can you buy/cancel? That depends on the retailer, Koodo don’t seem to care. If you do the buy/cancel Walmart Mobile may not sell to you again. They’ll make up excuses about how your account is not eligible.

If I buy and cancel, won't I have to pay the full phone price?

You only pay the tab balance, this case it's small tab which is $240.

What's the upgrade path? The line I'm looking to replace the phone on is currently on Koodo prepaid, but when I called and asked them about moving this to monthly they pretty much offered me nothing but the plans on their web page.

You have to wait for the good offers. Post paid. Last one was BF weekend @ Walmart:

iPhone SE = $200 gift card NEW + Upgrade [tab small]
iPhone 6 = $250 gift card NEW + UPGRADE [tab small]
iPhone 6S = $200 gift card NEW + UPGRADE [tab medium]
iPhone 7 = $200 gift card NEW + UPGRADE [tab medium]
iPhone 8 = $100 gift card NEW + UPGRADE [tab medium]
Samsung A5 = $250 gift card NEW+ UPGRADE [tab small]
Samsung A8 = $100 gift card [tab small]
Samsung S8 = $100 gift card NEW + UPGRADE [tab medium]
Samsung S9 = $0 [tab medium]
LG Q6 = $150 gift card NEW + UPGRADE [tab small]
LG G6 = $200 gift card [tab small]
Google Pixel 2 XL = $100 gift card [tab large]

We got 3xA5's and 1xiPhone8 64 (last one they had otherwise I would have got more). The I8 was a steal I use that myself now. Sold the A5's Got what worked out to be a free I8 and was still $300 up after all said and done, taxes paid. Doesn't include sale of my old trusty i6S which sold for 200. We have 2 lines that qualify for tab small and one line for tab medium upgrades. You can add more than one phone as upgrade per line but you have to pay the tab straight away. Max eight phones per account.

Thanks. Since the line in question is switching from Prepaid to monthly & I can get a $10/month off for a year offer to do this it seems worth leaving the line with them for at least a year to see what comes up.

I'd probably target a G7 right now.
