WARM: Decent Chair @Staples
http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/ca...AffixedCode=WW
I saw this chair in-store a few months ago, it was $179 back then...was wating for a coupon to buy it online...seemed to be better quality than the other Global brand chairs in that price range. I just feels less flimsy than the others, has metal legs/base, a removable, adjustable headrest, better fabric that can be unzipped from the coushins and washed separately. Most importantly, it has a slew of adjustments compared to others at it's price point.
With the $30 off $200 now available, I decided to order it...and now they cut the price to $149 online. Ordered $50 worth of fido prepaid cards, and a ruler to get over $200.Last edited by Fightguard; Mar 10th, 2005 at 12:48 PM.

Fabric chairs suck because they're so hard to keep clean.

not much interest here...but i'll update anyway
got my chair assembled so here's some initial thoughts...
overall, it's heavier than i expected.
seems pretty strong... i did my "wobble" test - sitting on the chair and rocking/leaning my weight from left to right to see how much it moves/angles down (think of it as a a "see-saw" frm left to right) - barely any "teeter-totter" movement, excellent. many <$200 chairs fail this test when I do it in stores
highly customizable, 9 types of adjustments here...best feature is the lumbar support. the knob on the side let's you fine-tune the hump/curve in the lower back.
the fabic is better than i expected. thicker than the weaved threads that i normally see on similar chairs (Global). it's actually more like a soft carpet,

my only complaint so far is the headrest...leaning my head back against it, there's no support for the back of your neck (like leaning your head back on a car seat headrest). i don't lean my head back very often as it is but i'd still like it to be comfortable...so that's a big strike against it.
I don't know if I'll keep this...the deciding factor is whether or not I can live with the lack of neck support. We'll see in a few days of regular use...Last edited by Fightguard; Mar 15th, 2005 at 01:30 PM.
