I've been watching for a GPS for a while. The Garmin 700 series is all around pretty good. Some of the other 700 models have gone on sale for as little as $199 (maybe less but that's the lowest I've seen). However, the 780 is always usually a bit more because it has all the features the other 700 have, plus bluetooth for handsfree calling, plus the MSN GPS service.

Not quite that straightforward - eg. the 770 has N. Am. & Euro maps; the 760 & 770 have a traffic receiver, just not MSN.
The 700 series ending on "0" are last year's models. The new ones, ending in "5" rather than "0",have a "free" traffic service (where it works) and a different processor.
(I have a 770 & a 755.)

I stand corrected. Thanks for the clarification. I was looking at this comparison of all the 700 series (scroll down a bit): http://gpsmagazine.com/2008/04/garmi...gps_review.php
