Warm? - HD - Makita Hammer Drill/Driver Combo -$249 -20%?
I was at Home Depot today and they had the Makita Hammer Drill and Impact Drive Combo Kit on for $249 (LCT202W). I picked up one and plan on going back tomorrow and try and get another 20% off with the Cordless drill promotion. So possibly $200, for the combo kit.
The reviews are good for the drill: http://www.amazon.com/Makita-LXT202-...195964&sr=1-19 and this is the best price I've seen for the set which includes the Hammer Drill.

I got it at the Home Depot Ottawa -Orleans and ended up getting it for $238.20.
There's three sets that Home Depot sells, I believe.
The Compact Drill/Driver and Impact Driver(LCT200?) which I have normally seen on for $299. This one which includes a Hammer Drill, its comes in a hard case compared to the soft case for the Compact set. Then the Heavy Duty Hammer Drill combo which is more expensive.
I can post a receipt tomorrow if need be but the main thing is to look for the hard case. I found them on a skid at the front of the store where they have their tool deals.

The Home Depot Canada site says the new lower regular price is $299
http://www.homedepot.ca/webapp/wcs/stores
The 20% off sale starts this Thursday and the online flyer says the price will be $239.20 on the four days of the sale.

Sorry it was $239.20. late post :P
So here is the receipt when I got it at $249:

Here's a picture of the skid:

I went back and they only gave it to me for $239.30. I wasn't in the mood to argue but you might be able to get it for $200. They said it was 20% off the regular price but that wasn't really the case since this is 20% off the "sale" price of $299.

thanks for posting the receipt... i think it is the same what is for 299 here..
you got lucky to get 249 and plus 20% off......
first promo is 50 dollar off and second promo is 20% off..
this two promo's were not at the same time but one after other...
you went back with receipt to get the 20% off.. so you were lucky to get the advantage of two different promo's..._______________

The OP's deal was even better as it had a hammer drill and compact impact driver. The one that is regular $299 that everybody is referring to only has the drill/driver and a compact impact driver. Further, it was at a lower price. Lucky guy.
edit: after looking at the pic that the OP posted, the HD sign says hammer drill, but it has the same model number and sku number as the latter posts. Not too sure about the discrepancy. Maybe the amazon link was the wrong one, and/or the HD sign was wrong. dunno. Maybe the OP can verify as he already bought the kit.Last edited by BoombasticSloth; Dec 9th, 2009 at 03:04 PM.

I was able to get the LCT202W combo kit during the ultimate tool event in early Nov. Our bbq installer from Kitchenaid was using one and recommended it to me. He said it was one the lightest drills he's ever used and very reliable, fast charging as well.
At HD, I wasn't sure which one to get, LCT202W or BDF452HW (lone compact drill for $269). So I bought both along with Ridgid wet/dry vac. Cashier applied coupon for $125 discount (ultimate tool event). LCT202W was also on sale at $249 ($50 off).
I liked the LCT202W drill better after trying both drills on pine and cedar wood. When I returned the BDF452HW, I thot I was going to lose $125 discount, but I didn't. CS said only a certain percentage will be lost bc of return. So I ended up paying $202.34 + tax for LCT202W and $121.07 + tax for wet/dry vac (originally $149). I thot it was ok deal.
The drill is really light. Battery does charge fast. I had no difficulty or problems drilling various size holes and driving screws thru cedar and pine wood. I have had no problems with recharging. I like the plastic carrying case (rather than bag, my preference). BTW, the LXT 202 comes with drill model BHP451 and 3.0 ah batteries, whereas LCT 202 has BHP452HW and 1.5 ah batteries. Thus, LXT 202 is more expensive.
