Just saw on mobilesyrup.com that Virgin is coming out with "awesome 40" tomorrow, seems like koodo is launching its own version tomorrow too.

Better than virgins plan. Would have jumped on it if it was $35 or had 500mb data. Looks like I'll stick to my wind plan.

No BBM + email? Is the data compatible with Blackberry?

A little competition for Virgin's $40 plan.
Unlimited incoming would have been nice.

Nice option for relatively light users. It's essentially their 30$ plan plus unlimited messaging and 250MB data.

If only it were possible to trade 50 minutes for 50 mb.
I'm currently with Koodo, 100 mins, 300mb (Datasaver), Eve/wknd, CID/VM, Messaging for $45 plus tax.
I hardly use any minutes but lots of Data so I would end up paying more for less of what I use.

Seems quite decent actually, especially considering it includes call display, voicemail, and unlimited text (you have to choose between cd/vm and unlimited text on Virgin). The extra 150mb over Virgin is good too, and early E/W is nice as well.

I was thinking of switching to Koodo (before this deal) and was figuring I'd get the $30 Canada wide plan + $5 texting + $5 data flex plan (which would jump to $10 or $15 depending on how much data I used). I'm a light user of everything and rarely exceed 100 MB but occasionally do. This new plan just saved me $5 - $10 bucks. so it is ideal for me. I also need another of the same for my wife. So $80 total.
I'm currently with Rogers and trying to get them to match Koodo (before this deal). The best they would do for me was Family plan ($27 each = $54) which has 400 shared local minutes and unlimited texting and other stuff + $7 (x2) mini message and CD + $10 (x2) 100 MB = $88. And then the will take off $5 each plan member bringing it down to $78 (and I get 15% rogers better bundle off of the $54, so I save another $8 there). But this doesn't have Canada wide calling so any long distance would cost and also their calling times are 2 hours less (from 6pm to 7am). So go with Rogers and pay $70 but get dinged for LD and also data overage of $5 would be likely per plan every now and then too so it's almost a match in my eyes, but due to Rogers 15% dropping to 10% if I leave them I also lose out about $15 per month there too.
For me Probably staying with Rogers with the plan above would be best, but this new Koodo deal is great for light users for sure. If Rogers balks on the deal (which they might because I've already called back and been told maybe no) then this Koodo deal is for me.
