[Dell] Warm? Western Digital 1TB SATA 3Gb/s 32MB 7200 RPM 3.5IN Caviar BLACK $85.49 at DELL

So I'm in the market for an internal HD and I saw this Drive on sale at Dell small business for $89.99, apply the 5% discount code will bring it to $85.49. Is it a good deal?

I saw 1TB goes pretty low recently but not sure if this BLACK worth the extra?

I wouldn't buy a Chinese knock-off drive.

if you still have a 15% coupon, you can get it down to 76.49 (and the coupon works on this item, which is weird, its not supposed to work on "on sale" items)

pricecanada says the lowest all time for this drive was 79.99.

This is the 32mb cache version though, not the 64mb version.

How to find out it's a Chinese knock-off? I don't want pay for high price and only get a knock-off.

I assume he was trying to be funny because you put weston digital instead of western digital in the title.

Since your location is listed as Toronto,
Canada Computers has the Western Digital Caviar Black (WD1002FAEX) listed for $79.99 + taxes.

Better then none. Some will have a problem after the 3rd year and you never know.

Along with what htc*** has already stated,
Depends on your intended use.
For the consumer HDD market, the Caviar Black series would be their performance drives.

Their 1 TB Caviar Blue series, WD10EALS, sells for around $63.00 + taxes.
And you don't have to deal with "Advanced Format/4k" like alot of the new hard drives intended for storage.

Hey, it's hard to write in forum and keep my productivity at work, especially while I'm working with a project with address Weston Rd.

That's why I don't try - productivity be damned, RFD is more important

A little pricey compare to other deals we saw before.

I wonder since when people start to make profit on warranty. How could a customer keep the original receipt for 5 yrs, I don't know about others, but my receipts normally last no more than 1 year.

Don't you keep the receipt in your email if you're ordering online? Isn't that good enough for most MIR/warranty claims?
