Warning about Casio camera's (EX-s500)
I was nearly going to purchase a casio camera, but read customer reviews about the "Lens Ring" falling off.
Shortly after I sent Casio an email concerning the claims. This is what I got back...

Turns out that it's true.
I don't know how common the problem is, but if it ever happens, you're screwed out of $200.
I think i'll get a Canon instead_______________

The only special thing about Casio cameras is that they have really, really good battery life.Last edited by subliminal; Jun 20th, 2006 at 05:29 PM.

can you elaborate on this problem? I have a S500 but haven't had any issues with things falling off.

Is this the camera from the Hot Deals section that was from Costco? If the ring breaks then just return it and get full customer satisfaction.

LoL I can't believe you got that back as a response from Casio. Well, when I first read it, I thought it must've been coming from an international tech support department, but no, it's from some guy in Markham...or so says the signature haha
Fine art...bah_______________

that guy needs to take ESL lessons.
back to the original topic, ALL compact cameras have fragility problems.
canon has it's own share! do a search for E18 or cracked LCD on google.
i had a SD300 for over a year and never had issues, mind you i kept it in a case at all times
