Want to share my experience with leons....

we had bought a corner curio for 299 plus tax(regular 399). all assembled and ready to go(just to put the glass shelf). After we bought it home and took it out of the box, we realised the door was too hard to pull. We took it back to the store after few tries and the sales guy was kind a grumpy saying that it must be your floor. I asked him to take it out and put it on his floor. The same thing happened and could see the embarassement on his face. He opened another box and same thing the door had the same problem. And then started making excuses saying we got a faulty lot and he started apologising... So i had to tell him before leaving and getting a refund that they should do a quality check of the stuff they sell before selling to customers and the poor customers has to go through all the trouble and inconvienece.

How is it a plus? Did you expect Leons to say "You bought you own it".

It's just another perfect example of the crappy furniture they sell.

Once I bought a Coffee table there, miters on the corner of the table were out by 1/4 inch, so took it back and they gave me a different one (Unassembled in a box). Got it home and it was the exact same crap.

Took it back, and went through 3 more boxes while in the store, all were the same.

Got a refund. But it wasted 1/2 of my day (3 hours total driving there and back).

Stop shopping there. And tell everyone you know why. The only power you have as a consumer is your voice and your dollar. People who complain and then go back to buy stuff again just make everything worse.

I have not stepped foot in a Leons since my experience I posted on page 1 of this thread - that was 7 years ago now. I have bought a lot of furniture and electronics in 7 years, and Leons was not even on my radar, I don't even look at their ads, nothing. They are dead to me and any time a conversation comes up about furniture or electronics I tell the other party to stay away. It is the only way to get messages to companies.

At least you had someone go to your house and tried something with the mattress, my mother just got sheer B.S..

One time i was all drunk and I wanted to call them and said one too many... Things missed my gfs face and they needed to come clean it. My second thought of the repercussions of that stopped me hahaha. But I did joke about it in the store when buying the matters and the guy just laughed and said he's never heard that one before... Never did give me an answer to that question...


Back on topic. OP if they verbally said it and it's not on any papers she signed, she's outta luck unfortunately. Lesson learned I guess

I think you misunderstood my post.

I went back to try to find a good coffee table, after examining a total of 5 different boxes, I finally got a refund.

I haven't bought anything there since.

contact the BBB at www.bbb.org (i think) tell us what happens. you can just fill in the form online from your local bbb

Wrong, contact Leon's HeadQuarters, I'm sure they would NOT approve of a manager in one store doing this. I think the problem lies with the individual wanting to increase his sales performance for the year, not the overall business, but then again I've only shopped there once, long ago, and it was for a $15 photo frame if I recall.
