Fresh grated wasabi
Butter

Combine to taste
not as ideal obviously... But can't you just get a tube of wasabi and whip up the butter with some of it?
Thats how they make all the other __________ butters.

But fresh grated wasabi is always bad ass

Well I was assuming they wanted actual wasabi, and not the dyed horseradish and mustard that you find in 98% of those tubes. Yes, even the expensive ones rarely have wasabi in them.

Hehe for sure its green horseradish paste.
Just throwing it out there in case local availability is an issue.

The missing word is "compound". Butter with herbs/flavourings mixed in are known as compound butter.

I'd use the Hime Powdered Wasabi because fat and water don't mix and there's no water in that stuff.

I think sous vide gives you the most laboratory like precision (and zero smell) Checkout Sous Weed

- decarb weed in a bag for 1 hour at 95C
- combine melted butter and weed in a jar and sous vide for 4 hours at 85C

So, that's my problem with lemon butter. It always gets kind of separated and watery. any suggestions for an emulsified, silky lemon butter?

I've never tried to make that, and I'm not quite sure how you would emulsify it.. probably by using clarified butter and an egg yolk (a la mayonnaise) as an emulsifier.

However, you could also try adding dried lemon powder, like True Lemon (https://www.truelemon.com/product/true-lemon/)

I don't know. I've only used it so far to make a tangy seafood cocktail sauce. And in tea when I forget to buy lemons.
