Did anyone else find a better deal (remember not the low end 999$ ones.. Steam feature on both washer and dryer means it also has other fancy features.)

I've heard the 'steam' functions on washer/dryer is mostly useless.
The $1200 LG washer/dryer seems a good deal though. The only other comparable deal I see is the Kenmore (SAMSUNG rebrand) washer/dryer at Sears for $1200: http://www.redflagdeals.com/flyers/s.../?page=2#flyer
SAMSUNG and LG are the industry leaders in washer/dryers.

i bought the lg 2650 set in october at sears (i had read on these forums that someone got the set from futureshop in july for $1524, so i asked them to price match and they did). $1496 is the lowest i've ever seen - they usually go "on sale" for $1799.
the 2250 model is a year or two older than the 2650 and does not have the steam option. is a newer model with steam worth the extra $300? i thought it was, but you can't go wrong with the cheaper set either.

My Dryer bit the dust last week so i'm shopping around too and saw this deal at HD. I'm also on the fence about the steam feature...
Does this mean the dryer also need a water line?

WF405 price is a joke. Canadaianappliance has it for $1718 right now, you could get a better pricing at FS if you pricematch today rather then waiting on the Boxing day deal.

The biggest rip off is the OPTIONAL pedestals. I mean 248.00 each for a hunk of plastic. Sounds exactly like the cheap printer high price cartridges scam.
Has anyone found pedestals for washer/dryers cheaper???

If you are buying the set, and planning on keeping them side by side, why not just making something? Buying decent materials from home depot would cost around $40 and you could make it custom height to what you like.
Some 2X6's and paint, nobody would even know. You could probably buy some laminate to cover the wood, and would look even better. For the price of those pedestals, they're a total ripoff

I ended up buying the LG 3550 set because of its high capacity.
Listed at 1799 at FS
http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/produ...9e18754756en02
I price matched Homedepot who had them listed at 2700,
so my total price was ~$1700. Add gst and shipping, 1833 total.

I picked up this model here: http://www.homedepot.ca/product/brav...eet-doe/966560 EARN CASH BACK
I have an employee discount thru my company that lets me login to the whirlpool/maytag VIP site (https://www.vip-program.ca/LoginProx...?ReturnUrl=%2f) . This company code is available thru VENNGO. (same as perkopolis)
The model i linked I ended up getting for $863 plus taxes, 1 cent shipping and an extra year of warranty. You may want to take a look at the site first. The extra year of warranty and free shipping are a boxing week special and end on the 6th of January.
