When I was in high school I had Swiss Military, Wenger, and ESQ. They were all good Quartz watches.
Last few years, I have been buying Tags exclusively.
My last few years purchased:
My Daily/Vacation Watch - Formular 1 Alarm :

My Wife Daily/Vacation Watch - Formular 1 :

Our next to be purchase Tags:

Just got this -- gorgeous watch and great value to boot (from mywatcheshub).

I would also like to say thanks to all of you fine gentlemen (and ladies?) in this thread -- it's a great resource for someone who's just getting into watches and watch collecting.
With that in mind, I do have two questions:
1) What watch blogs/forums do you recommend for a newbie?
2) For my next purchase, I'm looking into a Seiko SKX007. Are there major differences between the various versions (-K, -J, etc...)? If so, which is the best value?

Nice. Very similar to mine.

To answer your questions:
1) WUS (watchuseek)
2) I just picked up an SKX007 last month. Great watch, great value. I like it better on rubber than jubilee, but I'm looking at a wjean super oyster bracelet for it. The J designation is made in Japan, it will be engraved in the back, and in tiny print on the dial. It's more expensive and harder to find than the K. I'd say the K is a better value. I bought mine used (but like new) from the WUS BST.
If you like the SKX007 have a look at the SKX173. Very similar - I like it a bit better.

Tissot Seastar 1000
Has anyone picked up or thinking of getting the Tissot Seastar 1000? If so which AD in the GTA is the go to place for this watch? This is one of the few big bulky watch I like, still debating to go with blue dial or black dial.

Hamilton H70515137 (http://www.jomashop.com/hamilton-kha...h70515137.html)
I'm VERY hesitant to buy from any Asian dealers with the amount of fakes produced. I would rather buy from a reputable grey market dealer than an unknown Asian dealer. (Please comment on this if you have another opinion)
I usually buy from Amazon, but this particular watch can't be shipped to Canada.
Thanks
EDIT: Quick search on Google and WUS indicates there aren't many (if any at all) fake Hamilton Khakis. If this is the case, I'm interested in any additional savings. Any suggestions?Last edited by Jeroyds; Feb 19th, 2012 at 06:28 PM.

I'm thinking of getting a Tissot, what do you guys prefer?
Tissot V8
or
Tissot PRC200
or something else? Also planning to get a watchbox too, I take bombay would be the best for that one right? I can't seem to find any other retailers that sells these things.Last edited by Longobongo; Feb 20th, 2012 at 08:07 PM.

I haven't worn or even owned a wrist watch for at least ten years now.
Correct I like the mobile phone as well and carry it with me always as the time is up to date and a handy item to have which why I never wear a wrist watch for that reason as well.
I hope i have a Swiss watch.

i love the look for the v8 with the black face. it give it a more classy look. you can always change the vraclet to a leather croc to make it more dressy or a zulu for a casual look. i have a beige v8 and i still wear it every thursday at work. the prc200 on the other hand is great but they are way too many fakes out there that can be had for 60ish on ebay.
