Direct from who? Stowa?
I've purchased no less than 3 stowas direct from them. Service is excellent. Last order was a flieger special edition and I changed it at the last minute with no issues.

If you order ask for DHL/ Deutsche Post. This way your package gets handed to Canada Post and you may get lucky and they don't assess duties. If you order FedEx default than you are sure to get a bill.

Good tip, thanks. I'm in the Montreal area, like you also.
Did you get hit wit taxes when ordering via DHL? Also, are there duties charged? WHat costs am I looking at, on top of the price on their site?
Post a pic of your Stowa's. I'd love to see.

I've been offered a 2nd hand Stowa Baumuster B with decorated movement for under $1200, locally. I wonder if I should take it, or order new...

I ordered a watch from C Ward and it came royal mail/CP and no duties. My last Stowa came Deutsche Post and I got nailed.

CP charges GST, PST, and sometimes, 5% foreign duty. Brokerage is liek 20 bux.

My latest Stowa: partitio Handaufzug. Also have a Marine Original and Antea KS black.

Citizen or Rado
Depends on what you want. Citizen is well respected Japanese and most models are low maintenance, eco-drive, friends.

Rado is a old school Swiss brand, not as popular but lots of heritage.

Citizen or Rado
My two favourite brands. Currently wearing citizen axiom but If i had extra money i'd be wearing one of these rado integrals. I am a sucker for square face watches and especially these.

I have a budget of $500 for a men's watch. Any recommendations? Looking for something trendy and fashionable that can be worn for evening outings.
