I have been looking at this for sometime now,

https://www.amazon.ca/Seiko-Sports-SARG ... B00G9XRY92

Any suggestions/recommendations on where to get it from?
I have a Seiko sarg line watch. They are solid well built watches for under 1k. The strap on mine was crappy so I changed it.

Check Seiya Japan, island watch and Chino.

Watches are a slippery slope! Better delete your browser history and "unsee" this thread. Luckily you haven't discovered Watchuseek yet... :)

Think of all the money you will save on batteries. Plus lithium is bad for the environment.

This one is fantastic... Watch Recon aggregates private watch sales listings from multiple sources into 1 site.

Phone app also available that lets you add keyword alerts, etc.

Hey guys, looking for some advice from some experts here ! I am looking to purchase my first real watch and wondering if anyone could comment on my selection. Before this I only wore smart watches and fitbits.

My budget is to keep it under 1000$ and I am looking for a dress watch that could also work in the occasional casual environment. So far I seem to have settled on the Tissot brand and deciding between these three as there seems to be a sale on it at the moment

https://www.jomashop.com/tissot-visodat ... 03101.html

Can I really go wrong with any of these as a first watch? I am looking for a classic style that will last me a long time (not like my smartwatches that get out of date in 2 years lol). Also it seems like the price differences between the three are only style and size of watch? Which one would you guys pick or would you recommend something completely different?

Thanks

I would personally choose the Powermatic (In fact, I may just order one because). It has a classic look and an 80 hour power reserve, which is not super common in automatics.

Personally, I like the Visodate...but with a black dial.

The only other classic dress watch that won't date in that price range would be the Seiko Cocktail.

Look at the sinn 556 or Hamilton jazzmaster viematic.

I would also look at Tissots’ cousin, Certina DS for bit higher end polish and more modern design for similar price range.

They are all pretty decent to be honest.

The only thing I would mention is the powermatic 80 gets its extended power reserve by reducing the beat rate from 28,800bph to 21,600bph. If this is your only watch and you intend to wear it daily, then the extended power reserve may not be so useful.
