I almost went with the 007 purely because Amazon themselves were selling it with original warranty, but I really really wanted the 009. lol

I have a the metal band version of the Blue Angels watch and love it. But I'm likely going to sell it because I recently got an apple watch.

The two watches you're looking at are so similar, you should just go with whichever fits in your wardrobe better.

I have a blue angels with bracelet and it’s a well built and finished watch. Has a cult like following as well.

The top one will probably be a great one in terms of build and finish.

Enjoy either of them. Both are solid lifelong watches, and super accurate too!

Am I just unlucky? All 3 eco-drive watches I've owned have died or are dying. 2 stopped charging altogether. Luckily one was from Costco so no problem returning even a year after purchase. The last one, my Nighthawk, is on it's last breath...still keeps time but seconds hand is jumping that indicates low charge. :(

Have you tried replacing the capacitor/rechargeable battery inside? Something like Panasonic MT621 or similar. Looks like a typical button cell but has an extra piece attached so that a regular non-rechargeable battery can't be used (it would fit but wouldnt' work).

Didn't know that was an option. I haven't looked in a while but, at the time the first watch went south, general consensus online was that there was no aftermarket or publicly available replacement battery. I'll have another look around.

If anyone knows of a vendor or exact part #, please chime in. Thx.

I don't own either of the two, but I do have a AT4010 with the same movement as your first choice (E650) and a skyhawk JY0000-53E that is similar to your second option. The second one is better in terms of features (more world radio reception zones - only useful if you travel) and (IMO) looks, but both have internal slide rule bezels (functional but not very practical) and busy dials. I suggest you take a look at one or both in person if possible, the busy dials seem cool at first and have lots of information, but they can be visually distracting/annoying when you just want to check the time quickly.
