Sure you don't want to go higher?

I’m always tempted to get a GS, but hearing the horror stories with servicing and at 4 year intervals is a turn off.

Really? I heard spring drive services were quite reasonable.

Cost isn’t the issue. It’s the fact that the watch needs to be sent back to Japan and there have been instances where the watch comes back worse lol. Needless the say it seems like Seikos servicing is a hit and miss.

Watch winder

I have a set of 4. Great value for the money, they are quiet, adjustable and most important (to me) small.

Really nice. I like watches but not enough to spend that kind of money. I don't think I could afford one either. Not to challenge how people spend their money, but at some point only connoisseur could tell the difference between a 600$ Seiko and a GS. If I was making 10x more money, maybe I would go for a 6K watch.

Going to Singapore this summer and was planning on doing some shopping at Grand Seiko. Maybe I'll look at other brands.

Don’t get me wrong. GS is a great watch for the money. Just do your research on what to expect once it needs to be serviced.

Yup I’m sure it sold out in minutes. I like it.
I’m on the waiting list, but I’m sure it will be sold out quickly and well in advance for me haha

I'm on year 4 right now for my sbgj005 and so far it's still performing quite well without a service yet, but yes, i've also heard service for GS or particular GS would need to be sent back to japan - should be ok if service is in japan knowing they usually have quite a higher standard than other places - I guess i'll find out when the time comes.

until then this baby gets a fair share of wrist time - old pic.
