Watch TV on my computer, help
i want to watch tv on my computer...simple enough...
i have the coax cable readily available to plug into the comp but which TV tuner card do i need? do i need NTSC? Clear QAM?? what?? my service provider is rogers...

I suggest you get a digital tuner card, but you can probably get by with any cheap TV Tuner card, if you are just watching basic cable
All North American Programming is NTSC

the thing is i have the ATI theater pro 550 but i get HORRIBLE signal, all snowy like and what not, i can make out what i am watching but its unbearable, is that the right thing or do i need something better?

On all channels? Or only on channels below 12? If that's teh case, your problem is mainly interference.
I have theatre 550 and I always got decent picture quality.

Check your cable... the connections and the line to the main source.. this is RF interference and chances are good it's before the TV card. Try another cable connected to a real TV and see the reception... then plug it into the TV card.. (rescan) and it should be close to the same.
