They're the only car insurance company I've ever been with. Their rates were unbeatable when I got my first car at 22, and I've stuck with them since. I even have my renter's insurance through them.Originally Posted by red_red

WAWANESA Insurance
I was going to post this under CARS & AUTO... as I thinking about car insurance but then I guess it could cover home insurance also !!
Any opinions about this insurance company ?? Good or bad...??
Easy to deal with ?? Are their rates competitive...??
Anyone out there dealt with WAWANESA ?? for car and home ??
My car insurance only comes up for renewal in the next few months, but someone mentioned this company ... so I thought I would ask.

My parents used to be with wawanesa. No serious problems, but they're not with them any longer. I went with Belair Direct, paying around $107/month and they also switched to Belair Direct and saved quite a bit over what they used to pay.

I was with WAWANESA Until about a month ago.
I really have nothing but great things to say about them. I left b/c of a cheaper rate with TD Meloche Monnex.
Anyway, in January, I was rear ended while stopped at a red light. It just so happened that the other driver was also insured with WAWANESA. The company was lightning quick in contacting me, authorizing repairs, getting me a rental, etc.
In the end, they wound up authorizing repairs for more $$$ then the original estimate. I mean, I was floored. I didn't even have to ask or anything. The adjuster felt there was more damage and asked for a few more things to be fixed.
I highly recommend them, but rates do matter, and almost 25% lower premium with TDMM made me switch.

Does anyone have experience with Wawanesa home insurance? I'm looking into switching from AXA for cheaper premiums.

with PC for house,,,great deal!
I am with PC for my house insurance and couldn't find a better deal!
for a 1,500sq ft townhouse in a high crime busy area, a building that is 1 year old I was quoted $16 a month w 500 "disapearring deductible"
and this was with a $3,000 per item replacement value per item for all of house contents.
(I have all this in writing).
I got alot of discounts because I had a monitored alarm system installed.
I'm happy so far. no problems in contacting anyone there..applied over the phone for immediate coverage._______________

I am with TD for Home and Auto Insurance, never heard of this one before...
I never did a claim on auto insurance but did do a claim on home insurance when my house was broken into.

Sorry to open a old thread but I am thinking of switching over to these guys in the next week or 2 as they have the best rate. How are they now..a few years after this post?

I am still currently with Wawanesa and i have never experienced any issues with them. I shopped around for car insurance for a while and no one could come close to their rates.
I have never actually had to file a claim with them, but based on previous comments, it seems to have been a smooth and easy process.
