WB The Matrix Resurrections (4th movie Neo Trinity Lana Wachowski all reprising)

I honestly don't know if it'll happen or not but almost 20 years have past since the Wachowskis modern classic hit the screens and all studios are looking for exploitable 'brands'

Screenwriter Zak Penn (The Incredible Hulk, The Avengers), who is the sole writer working on said Matrix revival right now, is suggesting that The Matrix film he is developing is more of a continuation or expansion of the Matrix franchise, rather than a strict reboot/remake of the Wachowskis’ original 1999 film...

That would make more sense. The Matrix itself reboots itself right? You don't need to reboot to actually reboot. One does have to wonder why the machines don't stop cloning Neo though. Wouldn't they save themselves a world of hurt if they stopped making new copies of him? lol.

BMD elaborates with sources that claim young Morpheus as protagonist is a popular idea at WB

This sounds more promising...a prequel and how the Matrix came to be...

But that means no bullet time slo mo action sequences...since you are not in the Matrix...yet.....

Bleh... no more prequels!

Rehashing popular characters in prequels seems like a lazy approach to cash in (looking at you Star Wars).

The concept of the Matrix is so unique and there are a ton of interesting stories to tell. I would definitely be all for it, but having seen the sequels and the animated shorts... it's very hit or miss.... mostly miss.

I could really get behind a tv show about it. Not a reboot, just a continuation of the same unvierse.

Looks like the reboot has stalled but it's the 20 year anniversary of the original film's release and the Wrap looks back on the casting with producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura

I never knew Bullock was in the mix but apparently she mentioned in 2009 passing on playing Trinity but doesn't mention being offered the lead role

In February, I had the most amazing experience seeing the movie again on Cinesphere's big screen. It is bar none the best theatre in the GTA. This weekend Cineplex is screening it again just in time for the 20th anniversary, but it'll be very hard to compete with Cinesphere's exceptional picture/sound quality in presentation.

See this movie again on the big screen!

They lost me in Reloaded when it Neo became Superman.

Although to this day I like showing the lobby scene in 1, the highway scene in 2 and the final fight in 3 as ways of showing off the HT set-up. Especially the 4k updates which include Atmos remixes.

That could work. Get a decent action/kung-fu choreographer and limit the story to something smaller scale and more intimate. I'd be down for a live action version of the animatrix styled self contained stories. The universe is still interesting. The Chosen One thing is already done for.

so you want 90210 at Matrix High or Matrix Place.

If its like most WB projects its just a super friends soap opera. It'll use musical chairs based cleeky romances mixed with bad cgi, martial arts fight scenes and predictable melodramatic storylines.

Never watched 90210, so don't really know what to make of that. I was thinking more season 1/2 Daredevil with an HK fight choreographer and a twilight zone structure.
