What we need is another retailer to have a hard drive sale on Thursday, dropping a 3TB drive to just over $100. Then we'd be able to PM Staples and use the coupon for 3TB for ~$70!

2.5" 1TB regularly on sale for $50? Where? When? Or are you talking about some weird YMMV deal? The cheapest I've seen is $64.99 for 1TB 2.5" from Newegg.ca on Black Friday (and some similar PM deals at ME). Please point out where these $50 1TB 2.5" deals are.

Can't remember exactly, but I recall seeing a few portable drives (mainly Toshiba and WD) for between $55 and 70, IIRC. A few were YMMV, but most weren't. Maybe a forum search might bring them out?
