curious about this too.

i feel like their stock selection will be really limited compared to questrade... but great to see more competition

Given that they're planning to make money on US exchanges, I doubt it.

DarkReaper wrote: You pay for convenience, but if you got enough referrals to cover your fees, stick with it. Difference between 0.4% and 0.2% is $20 a year on a $10000 portfolio. But you can see how this can add up on bigger portfolios.

Also to note, WealthSimple charges their own 0.4-0.5% fee, on top of the MER, which is roughly 0.2%, bringing it to 0.6-0.7% all-in. Something to keep in mind, as I tend to see people forget the MER on top.
Ya def lot of ppl forget abt MER on top of their cut. They did switch to lower MER ETF for me along the yrs though, so you basically have to figure out ur contributions if you are not into reblanacing and looking at the best ETFs with time. It is a good option to get started or continue investing with minimal time rather than procrastinating on starting diy or forgetting to rebalance.

I didn't realize this thread was in deals as i searched through google. I thought it was in investing. In retrospect my posts don't make sense here. Being a little skeptical can't hurt though.

Had 597 in front. Now 1645 ahead of you, 35642 behind you.

I also used WS before questrade. But passiv made questrade a lot easier than using an Excel sheet to balance a 5 fund CCP 0.12%MER. I don't think passiv would work with WS, but wonder if WS trade will have a similar calculator.
