Exactly. I admit I was guilty of that. Learn and move on.
I can't stand people blaming others for their mistakes (i.e. she might have reported to a mod, she might be a relative of a mod, she might be the wife of a mod, she might have influence on the mod, she might this and that...speculations, speculations, speculations...).

Hi all. i'm looking to lose 20lbs and I will start working out during the school year. Please let me know what you think about my planned work out.
I'm looking to do cardio 4 days a week and these are days I have school because I will be using the school gym. I've never been able to run for long periods so i'm planning on using the elliptical for 30-45min to start. I will then weight train for another 30-45min after. I will be mainly using the machines as i'm not sure I know exactly how to use the dumb bells. I'm also looking to alternate upper and lower body weight training.
i'm at school Monday, tues, thurs, and Fridays so I'll be working out on those days.
Please let me know what you guys think. I need all the help I can get.
I'm about 5'9 and 180lbs.
Thanks all

My suggestions - though another user mentioned HIIT, it might be a bit much for you at this point if you are a bit out of shape. I would suggest doing what you have planned - starting slow with the elliptical and building up to jogging, then running, etc. there is nothing worse than throwing yourself in and drowning on day 1 because you are trying to push too hard too fast. Set some actual achievable goals you want to accomplish (and a timeline) and work towards reaching them gradually and you will be so much better off.
Now just a couple other pointers I would recommend:
1 - I would do the weight lifting before the cardio. Nothing wrong with a short cardio warmup (I usually do a 10 min bike or jog just to loosen my muscles first and get warm) but you will get better strength gains if you are not tired from your cardio workout already. After done with the weights, burn yourself out on the elliptical IMO
2 - I would make your main leg workout day Friday. Legs at least for me, since they are such a major muscle group, seem to take longer to recover and you will benefit from having the Sat/Sunday off after.
3 - DIET! If your goal is to lose weight, make sure your diet is on point - myfitnesspal and other sites are very helpful. If you are taking in more calories than you are burning, it doesn't matter what kind of workout you do.
4 - Do something YOU ENJOY! This will make exercise so much better. If you can find a group or individual sport you like, it will make things way easier because you won't see hitting the gym as a chore. i.e. I would much rather do some Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or play hockey than run for an hour.

Been on a low-carb diet (keto) for almost 5 months now. Was hard at first, giving up all the bread, pasta, rice(!!), cereal and so on. No better way but to go in cold turkey.
I've learned to read labels on everything while grocery shopping as well as find alternatives to my favorite dishes/snacks.
Lost 41 lbs so far! I also got off it during my eurotrip and still lost 8 lbs, most likely due to all the walking and hiking we did (Pompeii, Cinque Terre, etc). No longer a change in diet but lifestyle.
I'm trying to get to my 2nd goal weight (almost there). That's when I'll up the intensity on the cardio and perhaps venture out and do some weights.

Walking for an hour or so a day on the treadmill would that help lose weight?
