Weird... laptop has slower boot time than later on

Just started a few days ago.. I'm wondering if windows updates is doing this. Appears when I boot up the laptop first thing in the morning it takes 30-40 sec longer than usual. Yet after the first boot-up all the other times during the day is faster and more normal (Meaning I power off the puter then power on at a later time or even 5 min later). Why would this be happening?? Checked hard drive, malware, virus, start-up programs, etc. and everything appears normal. Anyone know why.. or is it just me??

The updates would definitely slow down boot times, I personally have disabled automatic updating because they often happen at the worst times possible. Are you having this slow first boot problem everyday?

Yep, always the first boot in the morning. Strange, then boots up normally each time after.

Hybrid shutdown (fast startup) does stuff like this un windows 8.

Sometimes its hard tout tell if you are shutting down or hibernating.
