Anyone else go by 1/2 your age + 7 with 18 being the floor?

So 21/2 = 10.5 + 7 = 17.5 = 18.

Doesn't really make sense for younger though.
Makes more sense when:

36/2 = 18 + 7 = 25.

Simple guideline: Divide by two plus seven
That's the guide to follow.

You're not a dirty old man as long as you stick to above 37!

Is it predatory behaviour?
Who is who? 18 the girl or guy? Normal for oldet guys to date younger girls. May seem somewhat weird thr other way around.

yes, the older you get the more appropiate the age difference becomes. That's the idea behind the formula.

Normal, maybe. Desirable, not necessarily. I dated a 17 year old girl when I was 20. Lasted about 2 years. Drama, drama, drama. In my mid 20s I started dating a woman 8 years older them me. MUCH more to my liking. We've been together 19 years now.

Age matters but everyone is different.

Younger people are more schizo, girls especially are full of drama for the sake of feeling like they are alive. They calm down the closer they get to 30s. Im sure young guys arent much better, but instead of being full of drama, its likely their juvenile nature that stands out.

Older people are more chill and established personality wise, although some people never grow up and they are the exception to the norm.

I have friends where the guy is 55ish and girl is 30 now, i think. Been together for 5 year prior and still going strong. Another couple, the woman is 2 years older than the guy, have 2 kids and been together for about 10 years now, more or less, no problems.

Basically no rules, except 18+ dating. Everyone is different, and theres no such thing as a “norm” anymore, outside of old traditional countries. Definitely not in North America.

It starts to go off again when the numbers go way up. 90 ÷ 2 = 45, add 7 = 52.
90 to 52 is quite a gap.

Define weird, odd or creepy these days. I find the latter especially overused these days. Everything seems creepy because someone doesn't like what they see. Live with it...

I don't think that's weird.

Remember it's called the "Dirty Old Man" rule.

You're just not a dirty old man as long as you're inside that range.
That doesn't mean you have to go near the edge of the range. You're just a dirty old man if you date a 51 year old at 90. Or a 21 year old.

Define "old"...

"Who are you calling old?" (Fred to Lamont)
"There ain't but two of us in the room!" (Lamont to Fred)
- from "Sanford and Son"
