Weird Sapm or a Virus?

For the last several months I've been getting emails that my spam blocker has not filtered. They make absolutely no sense as they are not trying to sell or get me to sign up for something. Here is an example:

Subject: a earmuff
From: ftheatregoer@vthorseco.com (I don't know this person)

Does anyone know what is up with these? There are no attachments with the e-mails.
