Weird smell from Dell monitor

I purchased a new Dell U2212HM monitor and been using it for a few days. I've begun to notice a faint burning plasticky smell which comes and goes. Has anyone else experienced this? It's not exhibiting any other problems. Colours are fine and there's no flickering. I wonder if it's normal (some glue in the components or smth)

The unexplainable odour issue is a strange one. Could be something from manufacturing. I've had one customer complain when I worked at my previous job about a TV that gave off a weird odour as well and it lasted months. Called the mfg and they couldn't explain why it happens.
