[Staples] Western Digital 2TB Passport Ultra USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive $99.97

WD 2TB Passport Ultra $99.97 @ Staples. Less if you have coupons or your Staples is doing the 25% off clearance thing.

Just a heads up, can't comment on this particular model but most wd 2.5" drives have the usb cotntroller soldered to the drive so it can't be used in a ps4 nor can you recover the data should the controller die.

Is it good for Xbox 360 or Xbox one?

Could only find two trial items for 0.01. Disappointing.

Should be fine as it's the maximum those systems can use for an external. Nice that it can be formatted NTFS so you can use it for DVD and Blu Ray rips as MKV or MP4 for playback on the XB1 or 360.

Thanks.

Add a pack pencil as filter to apply $10 off coupon, it comes with 3 years warranty , not a bad deal IMO.

Just picked one up in-store. They took off the 25% and let me use the coupon. Great deal. Thanks!

No BS, they probably made a mistake by accepting the coupon. Since I had put in a pack of gum to go over the hundred dollars. Then they took additional 25% off.

After doing some looking around, I can confirm this model has the USB controller soldered onto the board. Shame. There goes my PS4 HDD upgrade...

you are really just discovering this? I've been posting about these frankenstein drives forever and I can confirm that every single WD portable drive since the 500gb models have the usb port soldered onto the drive, and it's not like western digital has ever changed this format since. and it's been going on for 4-5 years straight. same with toshiba.

Didn't ask. Just went up to the employee, and he went to the back to get one and then another when I noticed the first one was an additional 25%.
