Western Digital 400GB HD

Just got off the phone with Western Digital they offer a HD upgrade program.
You just have to give them a serial number of any other WD drive you have, but DONT have to return the old drive.

Update:
WD 400GB SATA HD $143US (must provide serial number of other WD drive)
Includes UPS Ground Shipping, 3yr Warranty
UPS Broker Fees appx $29+ CND if it ships from US. If it ships from Canada no broker fees, most reports are of drives shipped from Canada.

Other Options:
IDE:
40GB = $39US
80GB = $40US
250GB = $65US
320GB = $97US
SATA
320GB = $89US
400GB = $143US
36GB raptor = $82

With the great low exchange rates now it seems like a decent price?

About $160 CND? vs locally about $90 more...
Who did you call, phone number?

Yeah a little more info would be good.........

So you call up Western Digital, as long as you own a WD hard drive (doesn't matter how old ?), you can get a 400GB SATA HD for $143 US ?

Any shipping costs ? Only available to US addresses ?

Question
How can I upgrade or trade up my WD drive to a larger drive?

Answer
Western Digital has an upgrade program that allows you to upgrade your current WD drive to a larger drive. Under the program, you can purchase a new drive with the full manufacturer warranty at a discount. Pricing and availability are subject to change. If you are interested in the program, please contact us at 1-800-275-4932. Please select Option # 4 in the phone menu to reach the upgrade line.

USP Ground from the States can be dangerous... depending of where they are shipping it from, of course

LOL, with UPS's "highest broker fee guarantee", the final price might be even higher than local retail version :twisted:

Yeah, if it's shipped from Canada, I might jump on it since I have an WD 80GB

So their upgrade program is a "thank you" for loyal customers? I've got a lot of WD drives.

The UPS thing scares me as well. Reminds me of the one message that one guy left for his seller saying he's not accepting anything from UPS.
