The specs say it's 7200rpm, but most of the comments say it's actually the cheaper WD Green 5400rpm drive inside. A few commentors do report getting the WD Black 7200rpm though -- it's a crapshoot.

I've just bought one of these. My total was $135, with Ontario rate taxes included.
Apparently there's a WD Green in there. Slower then their blue or black drives, but quiet.
Can't beat the price either way. I plan to throw it in a metal enclosure I have, with eSATA.

hi so it is a 5900rpm drive? also how do you take it out from its shell?

it's external hard drive ofc it is green drive.

Just looked at the specs, its a green WD and those have insanely high failure rates... 1 year warranty doesn't help either. Going to just stick with the WD blacks since it's the only thing with 5 year warranty depite the cost, last thing I want is to lose the data and be arsed to get a back up for a backup.
