WestJet expands service to Las Vegas

FROM CANADIAN PRESS

CALGARY — Discount carrier WestJet Airlines is boosting its services to the United States, with flights to Las Vegas and Fort Myers, Fla. — but withdrawing service from Windsor, Ont.

The Calgary-based first started flying to Windsor on April 1, 2003.

Citing low demand, WestJet said today the airline will redeploy its capacity from Windsor on Oct. 30 to London, Ont., and offer increased non-stop service between London and Calgary.

WestJet (TSX: WJA) also announced it will move its operations at Toronto's Pearson International Airport from Terminal 2 to lower-cost Terminal 3 on June 22.

The service enhancements include new flights to Fort Myers's Southwest Florida International Airport on Sept. 6 and Las Vegas on Sept. 8. Seats are available immediately.

Highlights of new non-stop services include: flights to Las Vegas from Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and Kelowna, B.C; to Fort Myers from Toronto; to Phoenix, Ariz., from Toronto, Winnipeg and Vancouver; to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., from Montreal and Calgary; to Palm Springs, Calif., from Vancouver; and to Los Angeles from Winnipeg
