I use questrade. Free to purchase any etf and super low fees when/if I sell. Ppl say customer service sucks but I have not had that experience. Also if I am buying etfs what do I need customer service for?

Their app for Android looks horrible and has terrible reviews. I need a solid app as my phone would be the only way I could buy/sell during trading hours.

What is their commission on sales?

iPhone app works fine for me!

Commission is 1 cent per share minimum 4.95 and max 9.95.
Buying etfs commission free.

I use questrade myself for etfs. The drawback is that you need to pay extra to get level 2 and live quotes so I use my rbc di to look up more accurate bid/ask prices

If you're doing passive investing it really doesn't matter. How often are you going to be making trades anyway?

Also, you can place orders when the market is closed, they'll be executed when it opens.

Questrade would be your cheapest bet for ETFs for customer service agents that I have encountered haven't been very knowledgeable.

The only major drawback of the Android mobile app is the fact that the GTC orders placed through my desktop never show up on the app. Thus, I wouldn't recommend frequent trading through it.

If you're planning on trading actively, can't beat free (Questrade, certain ETFs are free on others).

If investing passively, it really shouldn't matter as the commission will work out to be a very small percentage of your real returns. I like BMO - solid app on iOS and great interface so would recommend it.

Overwhelming support for Questrade. Is it only because of the free ETF purchases?

Every review, whether personal or professional, claims Questrade is a horrible service.

Honestly have not personally had any issues with their service myself. Their chat has always been available when needed, email/support request seems to have a day or two turn around. But really, once the account is setup and you are buying ETFs how much support do you expect to need? It is pretty straight forward

Hi MayorOfToronto,

We recently released a new fully-responsive trading platform, which provides a seamless experience between phones, tables, and computers. Test it out using our practice account: http://www.questrade.com/trading/free-trial. I would love to hear any feedback you might have on it.

You can find more details about our commissions and pricing here: http://www.questrade.com/pricing/DIY-Tr ... ons/stocks

Is buying ETF free in Questrade?
Or there are still ECN fees to be paid.
