What can i do to upgrade my comp?

Upgrade? computer is 6 years old.

I play CS;GO, heavy writing (in my opinion), surfing and everything else like most people.

I have a feeling my SSD is dying that's why every time I use my comp, I feel like it's slow. Past few days, my comp took longer than it did to boot. My keyboard and mouse didnt/light up or work....at the windows blue screen (after logo) it kept saying "please wait" like it was updating but updates happens when you're shutting down. After 1 min or so, everything starts to work and I could log in.
what could I do to my computer?

I had thought of buying a 256GB SSD Samsung 850 Evo Pro to speed up the boot and play CS:GO etc.. but not sure if should just build a new comp and salvage for parts...

these might help;

Your system is more than enough for your tasks, IMO "upgrading" would be a waste unless you have money you want to blow.

If I recall correctly those Kingston drives were not too hot in reviews and reliability, have you used their tool (if one exists) to check the drive's health? How are your cpu temps?

Your computer is just fine and get a better SSD(Crucial, Intel or Samsung). Just reinstall windows and make sure to do a image backup of it after you have most things install. If you really want to speed up the boot wait for Windows 10.

how do you check an SSD's health?
Would the last link in my first post show?
I don't know how to read Crystal Disk Info XD

I remember 2 years ago the manager at NCIX recommended me that drive lol.

what's a healthy temperature? if i could remember, mine was hovering around 42 degrees.
Thinking of getting a heatsink or a liquid cooler because my room has been getting hotter.

Your SSD is a V+200, not the notorious V300, so that's good.

Kingston's tool for checking your drive's health is here: http://www.kingston.com/en/support/tech ... olbox.aspx

The product support page is here: http://www.kingston.com/en/support/tech ... l=SVP200S3

There is a significantly newer firmware available for your drive on the product support page. You may want to read through the changelog, https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/1949/2751/8 ... enotes.pdf, and decide whether or not you want to upgrade your firmware.

ahh this is good information! Didn't even strike me to look at Kingston's webpage.
going to check if my TRIM is enabled also when i get home. might do a wipe on my SSD and just use it as a secondary SSD if there is a good deal on Prime Day.
