What computer case should I buy?
I'm just doing some major system upgrades and it's time for a new case.
I currently own a an antec sonata.
I'm looking for something with a little more room, is quite and looks good.
My next system I want to do some over clocking.
My next system is going to be:
DFI LANParty UT NF4 ULTRA-D
3000+ AMD 64 VENICE
x800 GTO2 (over clocked to x850 xt pt)
72GB Raptor
300gb Maxtor
ram 512 x 2 samsung?? (should I got ddr2?)
Any suggestions?Last edited by kaddy69; Oct 26th, 2005 at 08:27 PM.

Oct 26th, 2005 08:26 PM #4The price of the case + power supply seems high. I was looking at it.

Oct 26th, 2005 08:56 PM #10I thought the DFI was the best for overclocking. I have some experience with OC'ing I can up the bus and the multiplier. I'm don't know much about ram oc'ing yet.

Looks like you are an OC'er from the system you are building.
P180 + XP-120 = amazing combo for OC'in on air.
Here is my OC results w/ my P180 + XP-120 + 1 quiet intake fan I had to add.
Athlon 3500+ Newcastle @ 2750Mhz @ 1.65V and yes im am running all the fans in the case on low speed. The fans that come w/ the case, once set to low speed are quieter than stock nexus fans.Last edited by anabeces; Oct 26th, 2005 at 09:36 PM.

I use a Enermax Noisetaker EG495P-VE 485W powersupply.
The ThermalRight XP-120 is a heatsink for the CPU.
1)510 PCP&C - best PSU ever (overkill for you)
2)OCZ Powerstream 520W
3)Enermax 485W (24 Pin)
The rankings are based on the research I did for myself when I put my computer together around 3/4 ago.
P180 is pretty expensive so I am not sure what to recommend for a case.Last edited by anabeces; Oct 26th, 2005 at 10:11 PM.

Can't go wrong with Sonata II, only major diff from the first version is the intake system. I'm happy with mine.

Oct 26th, 2005 10:12 PM #15He mentioned a desire for a case with more room. And going from his Sonata to a SonataII is hardly worth the upgrade!

A good second alternative is the Enermax Noisetaker line and it's only a notch louder and can be found at any local vendor.
Thermalright's XP120 heatsink is one of the market's best cpu coolers. Here's a review from SPCR:

Another one worth mentioning is the XP90c also from Thermalright which is slightly better than the xp-120, and there's also the Thermaltake Big Typhoon which imo is better for higher end cpu's.Last edited by Cafe_333; Oct 26th, 2005 at 10:19 PM.
