Just because it's legal to bring in, doesn't mean you can't get it taken away if you're stupid with it. Also, their might be some other weird law or something that prohibits you from importing that I don't know about. Never imported, but I tried to look into owning/operating a laser and only found REDA. Wiki seems to agree so you should be ok.
