What’s this growing on my cherry tomato plant

These plants are growing in a Aerogarden. I’ve noticed the leaves wilting and noticed this on the stem of the plant. Is this normal?

Agree about them being roots. Tomato plants are vines and love to creep along the ground and set root wherever the stem touches the soil. If grown outdoors, it can help during a drought because there are more roots available to take in any available water. I always plant new tomato plants sideways with just the top few leaves poking above the soil. The stem develops extra roots and the main stem and leaves straighten out in a few days.

I've always referred to them as adventitious roots...not usually an issue but I think it can develop when plants are overwatered.
