TSX has risen 2% or greater roughly 94 times since sept 10 2000. And Feb 12 2016 was the last time the TSX rose >2%. The TSX rose 2.94% a few weeks earlier on Jan 22 2016.Grinning Face With Smiling Eyes
Thanks for the research! I knew it was quite a while ago. Feb 12 2016 was almost 2.5 years ago. =)

Good time to buy tech stocks ? Apple Amazon Microsoft Netflix all down
No. Wait for a definite bottom first. Sure you might miss a percent or two on the upside but you might be saving yourself 3 or 4 to the downside.

This is the 5th day of a slump.

Is this a correction due to constantly rising treasury yields or a great buying opportunity?
A bit of rising rates (but that was really telegraphed to the market for the past 12 months so it shouldn't have been a surprise)... but it might have been an excuse by some to take profits at the beginning and then some of the trading algorithms kicked in and people started to panic by selling their ETFs. Remember that last major adjustment...

I don't have any funds/margin that I'm comfortable using :( and won't for another month. If I did probably tech (AMZN, TXN) and industrials (CP, ITW).

I have some margin I may use today, although if this is just the beginning I should wait it out and see. Perhaps I’ll dip my toe in?

I think its not a bad idea. If you can save a bit for a couple more buys that might be good in case it keeps going down.

I added to XAW yesterday (too early, probably), and EIF. Looking to add to BCE, since I don't have enough to DRIP right now.

I just added more of SPGI, MA and AMZN for long term hold before running out of cash. Maybe I'll liquidate BIP for immediate USD relief.
