Telus missed it's earnings today, despite growing revenues and adding subscribers. Is it too much to hope this triggers a sell off?
Down 2%. Not a bad entry point. T It's my favorite of the Canadian telecoms.

Rough Q for the stocks I own. Misses by BAM.a, T, AQN, ITP, KEY and IPL.

After spending many years in Wall Street and after making and losing millions of dollars I want to tell you this: it never was my thinking that made the big money for me. It was always my sitting. Got that? My sitting tight!

2% - meh. I'm just going to sit on my position and see what happens.

Can't believe I missed DR.to 2 days ago. Has been on fire and even if it just holds now the dividend is still nice. Looks like investors really liked the recent results.

What was the EPS estimate for AQN?
AQN has a 5% discount on their drip. Its a slight miss for the quarter. Below is from TD who have a price target of 15.

Q2/17 adjusted EBITDA of $197.6 million was modestly below our estimate
of $207.1 million and the consensus forecast of $200.3 million. Empire
District (acquired on January 1) contributed $75.7 million of EBITDA and
recently commissioned renewable power facilities contributed an incremental
$13.9 million.
■ Q2/17 adjusted EPS of $0.13 compares with our forecast of $0.15 and the
consensus estimate of $0.14. This excludes currency gains, a modest gain
related to the Mountain Water sale, and related taxes.

Bought some more minimum units for tdb 900 902 911. Contemplated buying more VXC for a larger position but will hold off for larger purchases as usually with a day like yesterday it lasts a lot longer than that and today was more of the same and next week I don't expect things to suddenly come back up

For a short-term play, yes. However and due to the severity of the drop, a likely scenario would be a rebound early this week followed with another drop.

i've seen AQN on a few different recommended lists and it has me inclined to purchase some shares. A few things I'm unclear about:
- the dividend is paid in USD. does my brokerage convert this to CDN before paying out, or will it get deposited straight into my USD cash account?
- does this complicate things as far as taxation goes?
- I've read over their DRIP's PDF file and I'm unclear how exactly it works with respect to getting enrolled if I say have all my stocks with Questrade. How will they know to buy shares at the 5% discount with my dividends?
Don't talk about it, be about it

Your brokerage will convert unless you own it in your us account. It's cross listed so you can buy on the TSX and journal to the NYSE.

There are no taxation issues as it's a Canadian company. The drip is a treasury drip where AQN is issuing new shares. All your brokerage will need to do is enroll.

AFAIK Questrade "can't" do that. It's annoying.
